The fish superimposed on a tree reflects the heart of natural resource management; the animal and plant resources we care for. Christians, however, recognize the fish as an ancient symbol which was used to identify fellow believers during times of persecution. The tree has three points which represent the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Thus the Trinity is also shown as unity in a single tree. The center stem divides into two branches, reminding us of our essential relationship with Jesus as described in John 15:5, "I am the stem and you are the branches. Apart from me you can do nothing." The brown stem changes into green foliage depicting the resurrection from death to life. The white center portion reminds us of the importance of purity in the Christian life.
